Plain terms for a plain service. Here’s the deal when you buy a teardown.

What you’re buying

A teardown is a written diagnostic of your business. You send me your numbers and some information about how the business runs, and I look at it from the outside and write up what I think is actually going on, along with a plan. You get it as a document. That’s the product, the document. There are no calls, no meetings, and no ongoing retainer unless you specifically ask for and pay for something extra.

What you get

Two documents, usually delivered within seven days of you sending me what I need. One lays out the numbers, one lays out the plan. Every finding is graded by how certain I am about it, Known, Calculated, Not established, or something to find out next, so you always know how solid each part is. One round of written follow-up questions is included. A live call, if you want one, is a separate paid add-on.

What I need from you

Real numbers. Rough figures are fine, but they have to be honest, because I can’t diagnose a business off made-up inputs. If what you send me is too incomplete or too far off to work with, I’ll tell you, and I’ll try to work with what you’ve got, but the quality of the read depends on the quality of what you give me.

What this is not

This isn’t accounting, legal, or financial advice, and I’m not a licensed accountant, lawyer, or financial advisor. A teardown is my informed read on your business based on what you tell me and what I can find. It’s meant to help you see things and make your own decisions. Before you make a big financial or legal move, talk to the right licensed professional. I point things out, you decide what to do about them.

Payment and refunds

You pay up front, handled through Stripe. And I stand behind the work, so here’s my guarantee: if your teardown doesn’t show you something genuinely useful about your own business, tell me and I’ll refund you. I mean that. You’re risking the time it takes to send me your numbers, nothing else. If you’re still not sure this is for you, email me before you buy and I’ll tell you honestly whether it’s a fit.

Your information

Whatever you send me stays between us. I don’t share it or sell it. The full detail is on the privacy page. Short version, your numbers are yours, I just borrow them long enough to do the work.

Honesty both ways

I’ll tell you the truth about your business even when it’s not what you hoped to hear. Sometimes the honest answer is that the thing you thought was the problem isn’t, or that you’re doing better than you feel like you are. That’s the whole point of paying an outside eye. In return I ask that you’re honest with me about your numbers, because that’s the only way this works.
